What Men Talk About…
Psychologists say that answers to literally two questions (about your favorite book and toy of childhood) can tell a lot about a person. We went ahead and held a kind of blitz poll among our artists. And we decided that our heroes will be only men on the eve of 23 February. So, let's get acquainted with the artists of the Belarusian Bolshoi.

Ivan Savenkov is Lawyer of His Role
Ivan Savenkov starts his day at the ballet bar for 24 years in a row. It began when he went to school with a choreographic bias at the age of 7. Parterre Magazine can’t wait to tell about one day in the life of the principal dancer of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus.

Marina Aksentsova: ‘You can perform any role so, that the audience will remember it forever’
If we made hit parade of the most bright and character artists of the Belarusian Bolshoi, there will be no doubt, that Marina Aksentsova would be one of the top three. Marina Aksentsova is infrequent mezzo-soprano. She skillfully makes even the most non-significant roles significant, showing her bright, memorable and certainly distinctive characters to the audience.

As in Fairy Tale!
The Big New Year’s Ball at the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus gathered more than 1000 guests on the night of the 13th /14th January.

Love Is…
On the 14th day of the last winter month city streets, news feeds of social networks and front pages of glossy magazines are filled with Teddy bears, balloons in the shape of heart, cards with naive quatrains, t-shirts featuring the object of adoration and immense flower bouquets. Romantic comedies and heartbreaking melodramas are performed on TV screens non-stop. And theatre venues show only performances about love. On the eve of the Valentine's Day we puzzled the stars of the Belarusian Bolshoi with a naive, but exciting question: ‘What is the meaning of love?’

We Can’t Stop!
The People's Artist of Belarus and Recipient of the Order of Francysk Skaryna Vladimir Petrov answered the questions of our readers in this issue of Parterre Magazine.

Giselle, ou les Wilis. There is Beauty in simplicity
Adolphe Adam won international acclaim due to this ballet, although the composer created it in just 10 days. Five productions of Giselle, ou les Wilis were performed on the Belarusian stage. The very first performances featured real legends such as Nina Mlodzinskaya, Lydia Ryazhenova, Klara Malysheva, Irina Savelieva and others.

Congratulations to the anniversary celebrants!
In February Valiantsina Shtepa, Nataliya Kharabrova, Tatyana Baidalova Siarhei Zubkou celebrate their jubilees.

Jubilee Passions (Rogneda)
On 2 February on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre the national ballet-legend (choreographic biopic about the princess with three names) was performed in honour of the jubilee of the People’s Artist of Belarus, laureate of State Prizes of the Republic of Belarus Andrey Mdivani.

Dance at the End of Tether
On 15 February Ballet National de Marseille will perform at the Belarusian Bolshoi. The audience will see the production of Emio Greco and Pieter Scholten at the closing of the 5th International Festival "Vladimir Spivakov invites".

Belarusian Ballet. World Tour
From 18 December to 22 January the ballet company of the Belarusian Bolshoi was on tour in Germany and Austria. During this time the artists gave 29 performances. But it was only the beginning of a long tour of the theatre to cities and countries of the world. On 28 January our dancers performed the national ballet Vytaut in Vilnius. And from 6 February to 25 March the ballet of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus is going to Mexico.

Tosca by Giacomo Puccini
On 24 February Tosca by Giacomo Puccini will premiere on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus.
