On 7 October Mykhailo Malafii debuted in the role of Pinkerton on one of the oldest and most famous venues of Germany-at the Nationaltheater Mannheim. And on 1 November the Ukrainian tenor will perform this character on the Belarusian stage.
The Lviv tenor, guest soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus, winner of first and audience prizes of the 2nd Minsk International Christmas Singing Competition, winner of the Competizione dell'Operа-2017 in Linz (Austria), lucky, who entered the top 40 (out of 1000!) in Plácido Domingo's Operalia Mykhailo Malafii will sing on the stage of the Belarusian Bolshoi again. He will perform in Giacomo Puccini’s Madama Butterfly. The young Ukrainian tenor will appear in the role of Pinkerton in one of the most beautiful Italian genius’ operas.
In May 1904, the audience so acclaimed the artist, who performed the role of Pinkerton, that even after small arias he had to do an "encore". Will the Ukrainian tenor Mykhailo Malafii be able to melt the heart of the Belarusian audience on November 1?.. ‘I hope I will find the key to the heart of every spectator of the Bolshoi Theatre,’ Mykhailo smiles. ‘After all, the Belarusian audience is special. When teachers or colleagues tell me how the audience in the Metropolitan Opera or Teatro alla Scala welcome them, I think that the same warm welcome is always waiting for me in the Belarusian capital! I think that Minsk is my second home. When people ask me where I work, I first call the Lviv Opera, and then always the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus…’
