On 3 March the legendary staging of Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot is at the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus: an opera full of drama, lyricism and beauty! The composer believed that it is his best work…

In the fabulously and legendary times a Princess named Turandot lived in China. She was just as beautiful as she was merciless: Turandot decided that she would only belong to the man who could solve her three riddles. If the candidate failed to name the correct answer his severed head was added to those that already adorned the walls of the Palace. Once a brave man who dared to stake his life and unravel the mystery of the stone hearted Turandot appeared...

The title role in this evening will be performed by People's Artist of Belarus Nina Scharubina, and Calaf will be sung on by the Honoured Artist of Russia, guest soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus Akhmed Agadi, Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Valentii will appear in the role of Timur, People's Artist of Belarus Anastasia Moskvina in the role of Liù. The conductor will be Aleg Lessoun.

One of the best tenors of our time Akhmed Agadi agreed to sing in this opera almost at the last moment. The leading tenor of Mariinsky Theatre performed on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre, Dutch National Opera, Royal Danish Theatre, Hungarian State Opera House, Opéra national du Rhin, Teatro Colón and others. Agadi is a stage partner of Anna Netrebko, Maria Guleghina and other famous opera stars. The singer gives a lot of performances on a tour abroad. He performed in France, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, Latvia, Argentina and Turkey. In 1998 he was acknowledged as the best singer on Shalyapin Interantional Opera Festival in Kazan. He in the opera festival in Baden-Baden, where under the direction of Valery Gergiev he performed the role of Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, Rodolfo in La bohème.
