Alberto Profeta in the Role of Cavaradossi

Alberto Profeta is not just a representative of the most singing nation in the world, but also a hereditary musician: his grandmother, father, sister and brother are singers, his mother is a pianist. With that kind of background and undeniable talent his path was already determined from childhood. At the age of five he knew all his favorite operettas by heart, singing arias from My Fair Lady with pleasure. He made his debut on television at the age of 11.

Alberto Profeta starts studying singing with Vittorio Lipocelli, and then he continues his studies at the Conservatoire "Bellini" in Palermo with Elvira Majorca, where he, also, follows the classes of Magda Olivero and Renato Bruson as well as the post graduated courses of Luciano Pavarotti and Fernando Bandera. By the way, "sunny tenor" Luciano after audition at Teatro della Fortuna said him: ‘Boy, you have a really beautiful voice, you will be a great tenor. You will pass your way!’

His career began in the late 90-ies. He performed the role of Radames in Verdi’s Aida for the re-opening of Teatro Massimo in Palermo. Alberto debuts with l'Italiana in Algeri, Turandot and Rigoletto at Teatro Giuseppe Di Stefano in Trapani. Then he is called by the Opera House at Il Cairo, Egypt to play the role of Radames in Aida.

In subsequent years, the singer performed the leading roles in Gioachino Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Giuseppe Verdi’s La traviata, Aida, Rigoletto, Un giorno di Regno, Giacomo Puccini’s Tosca, Madama Butterfly, Turandot, Vincenzo Bellini’s Beatrice di Tenda, Pietro Mascagni's Cavalleria rusticana, Bohuslav Martinů’s The Greek Passion, Leoš Janáček’s From the House of the Dead. Also he successfully performed solo tenor roles in Messa di Gloria by Puccini and Mascagni and Verdi’s Requiem at the Teatro Massimo and Teatro Politeama in Palermo, Teatro Flaiano in Rome, Teatro Verdi in Trieste, Teatro Bellini in Catalonia, Teatro Goldoni in Livorno, Teatro Sociale in Rovigo and other European theatres.

In the spring of 2018, Alberto Profeta toured in China, performing at the best venues of at least 20 cities.

Currently, Alberto Profeta is widely known on the international stage, as he won recognition of the audience and critical acclaim.

On 21 February, the maestro will appear as Cavaradossi in Puccini's Tosca at the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus. For the first time he sang this role at the beginning of his career and until now he never ceases to improve it. In recent years, this lyrical and passionate, dreamy and selfless character has become the "calling card" of the singer.
