FESTIVAL IN NESVIZH

General partner of the project

Since 2010 “Evenings of the Bolshoi Theatre at the Radziwill Castle” took place in Nesvizh annually. The festival gathered more than 4 thousand spectators this year.

"Evenings of the Bolshoi Theatre-2018" started with the concert programme “Belarusian Romanticism”. On 22 June at the Church of Corpus Domini works by Belarusian composers, whose names have become synonymous with the Romantic era, were performed.

The soloists of the opera Irina Kuchinskaya, Natalia Akinina, Yuri Gorodetski, Sergey Lazarevitch, orchestra musician Dzmitry Harbachuk (trumpet) and accompanist Larisa Terekhova took part in the concert. The director and host was Viktor Skorobogatov.

The first festival day continued with the “Evening of Classical Ballet”. On the main stage in the courtyard of the castle the ballet stars of the Belarusian Bolshoi performed the brightest fragments from Swan Lake, Le Corsaire and one-act ballet Sonnets (new production of our theatre).  The concert was conducted by Nikolai Koliadko and Ivan Kostyakhin.

On 23 June the concert programme “Four Centuries of Belarusian Vocal Music” took place at the Theatre Hall of the Radziwill Castle. The concert featured opera soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus Yuri Gorodetsky (tenor) and Ilya Silchukov (baritone). They performed solo vocal works. It was like taking a walk through the pages of the national music history from the 17th to 20th centuries. Diana Morshneva and Polina Zadreiko played the piano. The host was the Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Skorobogatov.

Also at the Theatre Hall of the Radziwill Castle the admirers of the Russian Romantic Song could see the unique concert programme “Evening of Sergey Rachmaninov’s Art Songs”. Our opera soloist Ekaterina Golovleva performed the real composer’s “hits”. The piano part was performed by Elena Olimpieva.

On a Saturday night Giuseppe Verdi’s La traviata took place on the main stage. The leading roles were performed by Irina Kuchinskaya, Alexander Mikhniuk and Stanislav Trifonov. Maestro Andrei Galanov conducted.

On 24 June at the Theatre Hall of the Nesvizh castle the concert "Milonga with the Serenada" took place. The concert included Carlos Gardel’s and Oskars Stroks’ tango music and featured the opera soloists Tatiana Tretiak and Elena Salo, ballet soloists Izhena Kvashina and Pavel Chvanov, guitarist Yaroslav Makarich and musicians of the string quintet Serenada.

The grandiose concert ‘The Radziwill Ball’ with the participation of the opera and ballet soloists, chorus and orchestra of the theatre closed the traditional festival of the classical theatre art on the main stage in the courtyard of the castle. The concert was directed by Galina Galkovskaya. Andrei Galanov conducted.
