The voice of this outstanding Belarusian singer is known to the opera devotees all over the world: she shone at the Royal Opera in Covent Garden in London, in Theatro alla Scala in Milan and Teatro Real in Madrid. As an invited soloist, Oksana Volkova sang on the stage of the Teatro Massimo in Palermo and the Opéra de Nice in France, Teatro Dell'opera Giocosa in Italy, in the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Metropolitan Opera in New York, Beijing National Opera, and many others.

The singer took part in the concerts of the National Philharmonic Orchestra and the Moscow Virtuosi State Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Vladimir Spivakov in CIS and Switzerland.

Oksana Volkova has sung for 15 seasons running at the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus, therefore, the concert ‘Oksana Volkova – Solo’ one may call the singer’s anniversary. ‘The programme is put together in such a way,’ says the singer, ‘so that the Belarusian opera fans will be able to hear the music of those operas that are not yet included in the repertoire of the theatre. My partners are my colleagues, the singers who I have met in various projects. Since a mezzo-soprano often sings in a duet with tenors in such operas like Carmen, Samson and Delilah, Aida, May Night, etc., I invited three great tenors: the soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia Sergey Radchenko, a graduate of the Youth Opera Program of the Bolshoi Theatre in Russia, who sings at the most famous venues of the world; Mykhailo Malafii, a soloist of the Lviv Opera House, the winner of the 2nd Minsk International Christmas Singing  competition, who, having caught the fancy of the Minsk audience, often sings in Belarus as a guest soloist. A soloist of the Saratov Opera and Ballet and Helikon-Opera in Moscow, a guest soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia tenor Ilya Govzich is Belarusian: he graduated from the Belarusian Academy of Music. The only baritone who will take part in our concert is a wonderful soloist of the Belarusian opera we all love Stanislav Trifonov.’

The conductor is Vyacheslav Volich. The concert is directed by Mikhail Pandzhavidze. The concert will feature the choir under the leadership of Principal chorus master Nina Lomanovich and the orchestra of the theatre. We will see the scenes and hear the arias from Boris Godunov by Modest Mussorgsky, Cavalleria Rusticana by Pietro Mascagni, La favorite by Gaetano Donizetti, Samson and Delilah by Camille Saint-Saens, and others.
