Meeting with the Legend of Ballet

She joined the Belarusian ballet in 1979 (40 years ago!) and danced until 2005. For ballet dancers this is lengthy period. But her admirers think she left early, they miss her characteristic roles, which she embodied so brightly and artistic. Now the Honoured Artist of the Republic is the manager of the ballet company, ballet master and répétiteur of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus. And the light, which flowed from her, while she dancing on the stage, not disappeared. Now her talent helps to unleash the potential of new ballet stars.

Tatyana Shemetovets, the legend of the Belarusian ballet, was the first, who performed the roles in Valentine Elizariev’s productions: the Harlot in Carmina Burana, the Chosen One in The Rite of Spring, the Girl in Bolero, Anna in Passions/Rogneda, etc.

It is no coincidence that on 1 October, when the Bolshoi Theatre performs two landmark Valentine Elizariev’s productions Carmina Burana and Carmen Suite, in which Tatyana Shemetovets once shone, the Honoured Artist of the Republic is the manager of the ballet company, ballet master and répétiteur of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus invites the audience to the cozy Chamber Hall for a pre-show meeting an hour before the performances- at 18:10. (The central doors of the theatre will be open at 17: 45. Admission by tickets for evening performances.)
