Tatiana Tretiak graduated in piano (undergraduate degree under Associate Professor Tatyana Volodko, graduate programme (assistantship) under the supervision of the People’s Artist of Belarus, laureate of the State Prize, Professor Igor Olovnikov) and in academic singing (undergraduate and master’s degrees under the Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus, Professor Lyudmila Kolos) from the Belarusian State Conservatoire (currently the Academy of Music).
She made her Belarusian Bolshoi debut as Brigitta in the premiere performance of Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta in 1993 and then she continued to perform in productions and concerts of the theatre.
She joined the opera company of the theatre in 1997.

In 2001 she sang the role of Tatyana in the world premiere of Sergey Kortes’ Jubilee in Solothurn, Switzerland, and in 2005 she performed Mikael Tariverdiev’s monodrama Waiting at the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society for the first time in Belarus. In 1998 Tatiana Tretiak performed the soprano part in the world premiere of Leopoldo Gamberini’s cantata O Diário de Anne Frank and took part in the recording of the piece (CD was released in Milan in 1999). In 2002, she was decorated with the Badge of Honour from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus for her considerable artistic achievements, followed by the Ministry’s Certificate of Honour in 2008.
Tatiana Tretiak’s international appearances include leading roles in festivals in Solothurn, Klaipeda (Lithuania), Sigulda (Latvia), Monschau (Germany), where she performed the roles of Leonora and Micaëla; Violetta in Klaipeda Musical Theatre, Leonora in Giuseppe Verdi’s Il trovatore at the Azerbaijani Opera and Ballet Theatre, participation in Belarusian Culture Days in France in 2002 at the invitation of Pierre Cardin, Leonora and Musetta at the International Festival of Dance and Music in Bangkok, Thailand, in 2006.
She has an extensive concert repertoire and often gives recitals. With Belarusian, Lithuanian, Bulgarian and Russian symphony orchestras, she has performed soprano parts in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem in D minor, Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, George Frideric Handel’s Messiah, The Creation by Joseph Haydn in Switzerland, Germany, France, Spain, Lithuania. With Russian, Ukrainian and Bulgarian orchestras Tatiana Tretiak has performed the programme made up of Strauss’ pieces at noted concert venues in Italy, Spain, Austria, Sweden, Netherlands, Denmark, Poland, Hungary, Serbia.
In 2006 the string quintet Serenada comprising the theatre’s orchestra musicians was formed at her instigation. The quintet gives concerts throughout Belarus and works with the theatre’s leading opera soloists.
As the member of the company, she has toured Thailand, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Hungary, Poland, and the UK.
In 2014, she took part in the International Opera Music Festival "Breath of Baikal" in Irkutsk. There she also participated in a concert performance of Massenet's Werther in the role of Sophie. She was a jury member of the selection round of the International Belvedere Singing Competition in Jurmala (Latvia) and Irkutsk (Russia), 2014. In 2019 she represented Belarus with the quintet at the International Exhibition Expo 2019 in Shanghai (China).
