Vladimir Ovodok

 

Vladimir Ovodok graduated from the Belarusian State Academy of Music where he had majored in piano under Professor Liudmila Shelomentseva and conducting under Gennady Provatorov and Vyachaslav Volich. He also completed his PhD studies there. He participated in international masterclasses with professors Zoltán Peskó, Colin Metters, Yuri Simonov, took professional advice from Vassily Sinaisky, completed a special training course in St Petersburg State Conservatory with Professor Alexander Alekseev.

In 2015, Vladimir Ovodok was a student and assistant of Maestro Riccardo Muti during the production of Giuseppe Verdi’s Falstaff at the Italian Opera Academy (Ravenna, Italy). In 2017, he was the musical director of the Ravenna Festival trilogy, where, in collaboration with the director Cristina Mazzavilani Muti, he produced Giacomo Puccini’s Tosca, Ruggero Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, Peitro Mascagni’s Cavalleria rusticana. In 2019, within this festival he conducted Georges Bizet’s Carmen.

Since 2019, he holds the position of conductor at the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus.


REPERTOIRE

His premieres with the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus include Il barbiere di Siviglia by Gioachino Rossini (2023), The Sleeping Beauty (2022), Swan Lake (2021), Pinocchio by Gloria Bruni (2020). 


CONCERT TOUR

In October 2022, he conducted The Nutcracker, a guest ballet performance of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus on the Historic Stage of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia.
