Oksana Yakushevich has a voice degree from the Belarusian State Academy of Music where she studied under the People’s Artist of the Republic of Belarus Lidia Galushkina. She also completed a master’s course at the same academy under the tutelage of the People’s Artist of Belarus Natalia Rudneva.
She joined the opera company of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus in 2002.
In 2005, she received a Certificate of Honour from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus for outstanding creative achievements and significant contribution to the development of Belarusian musical art.
Oksana Yakushevich took part in the Days of Belarusian culture in Tajikistan, Russia (the role of Marfa in Modest Mussorgsky’s Khovanshchina at the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia), Estonia (the role of Konchakovna in Alexander Borodin’s Prince Igor), and China. She performed in the concerts of the investment forum "Belarus Calling Asia", dedicated to the cooperation of the countries of the Asian region with the Republic of Belarus in the field of finance and investment (Singapore, 2017).
Her other international appearances include, among others, leading mezzo-soprano role in Requiem by Giuseppe Verdi at the National Opera of Ukraine in Kyiv; Amneris in Verdi’s Aida at the Azerbaijani State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre and at the International Festival of Dance and Music in Bangkok (Thailand, 2016); the title role in Carmen (2015 and 2016) and Fenena in Nabucco in Poland (2016 and 2017, conductor Francesco Bottigliero); concert programmes in Poland and Switzerland under the baton of Marcin Wolniewski (2015, 2016 and 2017).
She has toured Germany, Hungary, Tunisia, and the Netherlands with the company of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus.
In 2024, she appeared as the Countess in The Queen of Spades at the International Opera Festival “The Slavic House” which took place at the Samara Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.
The same year, she took part in the 4th International Festival of Classical Arts “The Caspian Seasons” at the Astrakhan State Philharmonic Hall, presenting Belarusian arts in the concert “The Day of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
