Concert of the Vezhnovets Ballet School

On 1June, the Bolshoi will host a concert of the Vezhnovets Ballet School. It is no coincidence that on the World Children's Day young artists will perform on stage. Under the direction of the Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus Marina Vezhnovets, the children will dance, among other things, bright numbers from Valentin Elizariev’s ballets.

‘It will be an unusual evening for us’, Marina Vezhnovets admits. ‘Children will try to read the choreography of Valentin Elizariev. I'm sure it will be special, because the children will bring a piece of their soul into it. Of course, this is an important step and a new level for us. I feel myself very comfortable in Elizariev's performances. And I really wanted to give some new development to something that I love with all my heart. But this choreography was very difficult for children. It took us a lot of times to dance it. But we had so much fun during the rehearsal process! Honestly, I didn't even want to let anyone near our brainchild. I wanted to share this moment alone with the guys…Of course, for our concert we took those scenes that would be appropriate for children. We prepared each number so carefully and with special love. I hope that Valentin Elizariev will feel this. And knowing him, I'm sure of it…’

We add that the concert will feature not only children from the Vezhnovets Ballet School, but also students of the Belarusian State Choreographic Gymnasium College. The People's Artist of Belarus Irina Eromkina and Honoured Artists of the Republic Marina Vezhnovets, Yuri Kovalev and Anton Kravchenko will brighten up the concert.
