Recipient of the Francysk Skaryna Medal 

Anna Fokina was born in Minsk. She graduated from the Belarusian State Choreographic College. In 2002 she graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory (Nikita Dolgushin‘s studio) where she had majored in ballet directing.

From 1996 to 2002 Fokina was a soloist of the State Opera and Ballet Theatre of St. Petersburg Conservatory. In 2002 she joined the Mussorgsky Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre (Mikhailovsky Theatre) in St. Petersburg.

Anna Fokina joined the ballet company of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus in 2008.

With the Opera and Ballet Theatre of St. Petersburg Conservatory and the Mikhailovsky Theatre she performed leading roles in numerous ballets including Swan Lake (Odette/Odile, Pas de trois); The Sleeping Beauty (Aurora, Princess Florine); La Sylphide (the Sylph); Romeo and Juliet choreographed by Nikolai Boyarchikov (the lead role); The Nutcracker choreographed by Nikolai Boyarchikov (Masha); The Nutcracker, choreography by Lev Ivanov revived by Nikita Dolgushin (Fairy Dragée); Le Corsaire (Gulnare); Giselle (Mirtha); Carmen Suite choreographed by Nikita Dolgushin (the lead role); Apollon musagète (Polyhymnia); Le Pavillon d'Armide (the lead role); Chopiniana (Prelude); Don Quixote (the Queen of the Dryads); Pas de quatre, The Moor's Pavane (Desdemona); The Little Mermaid (the lead role) and The Games (the Girl) in Sharonov’schoreography version, etc.; choreographic miniatures The Swan (Fokin’s choreography); One day; Chaffaut; Threshold; Pas Step Pas de deux (Sharonov’s choreography); Siesta choreographed by Vladimir Romanovsky.
