In the autumn of 2018 the whole music world started to speak about Belarusian tenor Pavel Petrov. This year he won the prestigious international competition of the young opera singers Plácido Domingo’s Operalia in Lisbon. The tenor of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus Pavel Petrov not only became the triumphant of this competition, but also the winner of Zarzuela prize! On 5 July Petrov will appear on his native Belarusian stage in the role of Rodolfo in Puccini’s masterpiece La bohème staged by the Russian director Alexander Titel.

UNESCO declared 2019 the Year of Stanisław Moniuszko. In honour of the 200th anniversary of the genius composer, the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus has prepared a unique programme filled with his most striking and iconic works. Open day took place at the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus for the fifth time. On 24 May more than 5,000 people came to the festival. Half an hour before the ceremony, at 11:30, our guests were welcomed by wonderful ensemble ‘A. M. A. D. I. S. Brass’ on the steps in front of the theatre.
