Anna Karenina. En pointe

 

Anna Karenina based on the famous novel by Leo Tolstoy will appear in the repertoire of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus in November. The production (in two acts to Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s music) is staged by choreographer Olga Kostel. Musical director is Andrei Galanov, set designer- Alexander Kostiuchenko, costume designer- Nina Gurlo. The leading masters of the Bolshoi ballet of Belarus-dancers with big names and young stars participate in the rehearsal process. Among them: Maryna Vezhnavets, Irina Eromkina, Yana Shtangei, Aleksandra Chizhik, Anna Fokina, Liudmila Ulantsava (Anna Karenina), Yury Kavaliou, Igor Onoshko, Oleg Eromkin, Artem Bankovsky, Even Capitaine, Egor Azarkevich (Vronsky), Igor Artamonov, Kanstantsin Kuzniatsou, Anton Kravchenko, Dzmitry Shemet (Karenin), Konstantin Geronik, Ivan Savenkov, Mikita Shuba, Ihar Matskevich, Maxim Vlasov (Levin), Liudmila Khitrova, Viktoryia Trenkina, Darya Miadouskaya, Pervana Myradova (Kitty) and others.

‘I want to show a dialogue of pseudo-morality and alive feeling on stage,’ Olga Kostel said. ‘Of course, the feeling loses…’

Reference

Olga Kostel graduated from the Belarusian Choreographic College. From 1999 to 2004 she worked with the ballet company of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus. She is winner of international competitions. Kostel trained at the renowned Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden under Mikhail Dikamp (department of choreography). In 2008 she graduated from the Ernst Busch Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Berlin where she had studied under Professor Dietmar Seiffert (department of choreography).
She taught in Switzerland and Germany. Since 2011 she has been a choreographer of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus. Olga Kostel's choreography was also presented in the UK, Switzerland, Germany, Bulgaria, Poland, Estonia, Finland and Russia.
