On the “Silk Road”

Under the motto "We're all together!" the 6th Silk Road International Arts Festival, which annually gathers artists of different genres from different countries, was held in China. In September of this year, dancers, singers, jugglers, musicians, acrobats, mimes from Poland, Germany, Iran, Georgia, Slovakia, Romania, Montenegro, China performed on four venues in the cities of China. The Belarusian team include: the Honoured Artist Konstantin Geronik, recipients of the Francysk Skaryna medal and winners of international competitions Nadzeya Filipava and Egor Azarkevich, winner of international competitions Yana Shtangei, soloists Tatsiana Ulasen, Izhena Kvashyna, Ihar Matskevich, as well as ballet dancer Dzianis Shpak. The People's Artist of Belarus Tatyana Ershova was the head of the tour, another People's Artist of our Republic Kanstantsin Kuzniatsou tried on his traditional role of the teacher and répétiteur.

Modern, folklore, dance improvisation, light show, pantomime, opera singing, ethnic and pop music-it seems that there is a place for all genres of art. Belarusian artists were a "classic element" in this puzzle.

‘We performed a couple shows in each concert. For example, Nadzeya Filipava appeared in the role of Esmeralda, Yana Shtangei and Egor Azarkevich danced adagio from The Sleeping Beauty and together with Konstantin Geronik-fragment from Le Corsaire, Izhena Kvashyna performed the Cupid Variation from Don Quixote, Nadzeya Filipava and Konstantin Geronik performed the adagio from the same production, Ihar Matskevich and Tatsiana Ulasen danced the Spanish Dance from Swan Lake’, Tatyana Ershova said. ‘The guys performed at the highest professional level, it was clear from the loud applause of the audience. And also the manager of the festival did not hide her delight and even expressed the hope to see us among the participants of the project again.’

In addition to positive and rosy emotions, our ballet dancers brought from China the diploma and award of the participants of the 6th Silk Road International Arts Festival.
