NINA SHARUBINA'S RECITAL

Her repertoire includes the most complicated roles, such as Cio-Cio-San, Nedda, Aida, Tosca, Turandot, Yaroslavna… But on 18 December, Nina Sharubina will present a special programme for the chamber stage.

“It is important that both the audience and I enjoy the concert,” the singer smiles. “That's why the programme will feature real hits, including “Only Once”, “Coachman, Don’t Urge the Horses On!”, “Your Green Eyes”, “Don’t Go, Stay with Me”, “Chrysanthemums” and other old Russian songs, as well as songs by Belarusian composers. Perhaps only this evening I will allow myself to sing two arias of different heroines from the same opera by Rodion Shchedrin, Not Love Alone: Natasha’s song and Varvara’s chastushkas. I hope the audience will be interested in this unusual, let’s say, experiment. I will also perform “Ave Maria” by Caccini (trumpet solo by Dmitry Gorbachuk). The recital will be accompanied by pianist Anastasia Dubovskaya. We have prepared several interesting concerts and meetings with her before.

Believe me, any recital is much more difficult to sing than a performance. Especially in the Chamber Hall, where you are alone with the audience, and as if you were naked, because there is no place to hide, neither behind the orchestra, nor behind the scenery,  nor colleagues. Therefore, I invite our dear audience to a meeting where we will talk with our hearts.”

Note:

On 2 January 2021Nina Sharubina will mark her jubilee. On this occasion, we will be able to see and hear the People’s Artist of Belarus in one of the most iconic operas for the singer: on 16 January in Puccini’s Tosca, on 28 January in Prince Igor by Alexander Borodin, and in Verdi’s Macbeth scheduled for February.
