Ivan Vasiliev will perform in Minsk!

On 12 April, we will see two Honoured Artists from Belarus and Russia Liudmila Khitrova and Ivan Vasiliev in Adolphe Adam’s ballet in the leading roles of Giselle and Albrecht! One of the most renowned dancers Ivan Vasiliev will perform in Minsk!

Let us recall, that this evening will be dedicated to the Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Kolyadenko, a Belarusian teacher who has taught more than one generation of ballet stars.

Ivan Vasiliev also graduated from Alexander Kolyadenko’s class: at that time, a talented young man studied at the Belarusian Choreographic College. During his studies, Vasiliev made his debut on the stage of the Belarusian Bolshoi, and after graduating from college, he joined the ballet company of our theatre, but soon he was invited to the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia. It took the dancer four years to become the principal of the leading theatre.

He is a guest soloist of the Teatro alla Scala, Bayerisches Staatsballett, he performed with the companies of the Mariinsky Theater (St Petersburg), the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre (NOVAT), Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. In 2015 he made his debut as a choreographer. At the Mikhailovsky Theatre, where he has been the principal dancer since 2011, Vasiliev also staged some interesting productions. Since 2022, Ivan Vasiliev has been a guest soloist at the Mikhailovsky Theatre (St Petersburg).

At the teacher’s request, the director of Adolphe Adam’s Giselle Igor Kolb (also Kolyadenko’s student), invited the famous artist to perform the role of Albrecht on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus. It's really going to be a special evening: on 12 April Alexander Kolyadenko turns 90.
