Classes in vocal with the People’s Artist of Belarus Zinovy Babiy have determined Vasily Mingalev’s choice of profession. He graduated in academic chorus conducting from the Belarusian State Institute of Culture and later in voice from the Belarusian State Conservatoire (1985, class of the Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus L.Ivashkov).

From 1985 to 2003, he was a soloist of the Belarusian State Academic Music Theatre, where his repertoire included lead roles in musicals and operettas, such as Frederick Loewe’s My Fair Lady, The Glass of Water by Vladimir Kondrusevich, The Merry Widow by Franz Lehár, Gräfin Mariza by Emmerich Kálmán, The Bat and The Gypsy Baron by Johann Strauss, comic opera Viva la mamma by Gaetano Donizetti, Sergey Banevich’s opera for children Kai and Gerda, and others. 

Vasily Mingalev joined the opera company of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus in 2003.

CONCERT TOUR

He has toured Austria, Poland, France, and Sweden. With the brass band Fanfares of Belarus he has performed in the UK, Hungary, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic.
