Akhmed Agadi is the Honoured Artist of Russia, People’s Artist of Tatarstan, winner of Russia’s Golden Mask National Theatre Award in the nomination “Best Male Performance”. He belongs to the cohort of the best tenors of our time and performs at many prestigious opera houses. He has appeared in productions by the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, Amsterdam Opera, Royal Danish Opera, Budapest Opera, Opéra de Strasbourg, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires.
Akhmed Agadi is a constant stage partner of Anna Netrebko, Maria Guleghina and other famous opera "stars". The singer tours a lot. He performed in France, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, Latvia, Argentina and Turkey. He was a guest of the opera festivals in Nizhny Novgorod, Chisinau, and Saratov. In 1998 he was named the best singer at Feodor Chaliapin International Opera Festival in Kazan.
Akhmed Agadi graduated from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. Then he became a soloist of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre in Moscow. In 2005 he joined the Mariinsky opera company. His Repertoire at the Mariinsky Theatre include: Vaudémont in the concert version of Iolanta, Edgardo Ravenswood in Lucia di Lammermoor, Alfredo Germont in La traviata, Gabriele Adorno in the concert version of Simon Boccanegra, Don Alvaro in La forza del destino, Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto, Don Carlo in Don Carlo, Radames in Aida, Rodolfo in La bohème, Mario Cavaradossi in Tosca, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, Calaf in Turandot, José in Carmen. Also the singer performs the tenor roles in Beethoven’s Missa solemnis, Verdi’s Requiem, Mahler’s Eighth Symphony and Das Lied von der Erde and Rachmaninoff’s vocal-symphony poem The Bells.
He repeatedly appeared at the Bolshoi theatre of Belarus with great success: in December 2013 he shone as Prince Calaf in Turandot at Minsk International Christmas Opera Forum and in March 2014 he performed the role of Radames in Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida.
