‘Recently I was preparing concerts with the sole purpose to show that opera is not a conservative institution. That is why music of the 1930s-40s and songs from soviet films were presented on the small stage. We prepared theatrical concerts, New Year's programmes like Blue Light Show Concert, and the audience always welcomed them warmly. But still, it's an easy genre. And I wanted the audience to hear interesting classical works, which, perhaps, they didn’t know before. You can’t hear this music in the big hall of the theater. And I think it is the huge advantage of this concert, which we called Opera-gala,’ said concertmaster winner of the international competition Svetlana Kolos-Ivanova.
You will hear real opera ‘hits’, virtuosic music, which is extremely difficult for vocal performance. The concert comprises Gianni Schicchi’s aria from the eponymous masterpiece by Giacomo Puccini, Nadir and Zurga’s duet from the Les pêcheurs de perles by Georges Bizet, Farlaf's rondo from Ruslan and Ludmila by Mikhail Glinka, Electra’s aria from Mozart’s Idomeneo, great love duet from Giulietta e Romeo by Riccardo Zandonai, Rezia’s aria from Oberon by Carl Weber, Tsaritsa’s of Shemakha aria from The Golden Cockerel by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. And the real stars of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus will take part in the concert and there is no doubt that they will cope with this task. Your favourite artists Anastasia Moskvina, Tatyana Gavrilova, Margarita Levchuk, Ekaterina Golovleva, Stanislav Trifonov, Eduard Martyniuk, Alexander Mikhniuk, Dmitry Kapilov will delight you with the music of rare beauty. And musicians of our orchestra, who not only accompany the artists, but also show their virtuosity in solo performances, will be the cherry on the cake.
