SPRING PARTERRE MAGAZINE

The long-awaited Parterre Magazine is now on sale at the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus. Your beloved artists, interesting stories, concert announcements in the big and chamber halls and, of course, quiz, in which you can win ticket in the Bolshoi, will be in March issue!

Talented students of Marina Vezhovets Ballet School will perform The Sleeping Beauty by Pyotr Tchaikovsky in late March.

On the International Theatre Day an exhibition dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus will take place in the "University of culture" gallery.

We see them on the theater’s stage every day. They are beautiful, charming, shining. It seems that it is difficult to find someone happier. But did they find the secret of happiness? That was the question we asked the divas of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus. Olga Gaiko, Anna Fokina, Еkaterina Oleynik, Tatyana Gavrilova are in the special project of the Parterre Magazine.

‘I love to joke on the stage. I easily agree to interesting experiments. It is not difficult for me to do unusual things. I'm not afraid to laugh at myself. The only thing that I always repeat: if run the venture, it should be convincing. In fact, everything we do on stage must be convincing and justified. It is not for shock value…’, the Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation and guest soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus Nadezhda Pavlova specially for the March issue of the Parterre Magazine.

‘I'm not preparing for class. I listen to the voice, breathing technique and pronunciation at first. I don’t divide these things. I perceive everything as a single complex. I listen and immediately start thinking about how I can help the soloist sing better, because there are no singers without vocal problems at all. It is a myth…’ Professor of the Conservatorium Maastricht in the Netherlands and vocal coach of the Latvian National Opera came to Minsk again. At this time, the coach Axel Everaert helped Belarusian artists to get into the roles of Giacomo Puccini’s La boheme.

On 25 April the Artistic Director and Chief Director of Opera in the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre, People’s Artist of Russia, four times winner of the prestigious Golden Mask National Theatre Award will present his variant of Giacomo Puccini's opera to the Belarusian audience. And we can say for sure that this variant of La boheme people have never staged.

It is difficult and almost impossible to believe, but Tatiana Tretiak celebrated the anniversary in 2017. She officially works as a singer in the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus for 20 years. But it turns out that she made her debut on our stage 25 years ago. However, the chain of anniversaries in her unusual creative life doesn’t end.

‘The accompanist is an ear, very often psychological aid and connecting link between demands of the conductor and soloist’s opportunities....’ The accompanist of the Belarusian Bolshoi Svetlana Kolos-Ivanova is in the section ‘Dynasties’.

Giuseppe Verdi’s opera endured two productions on the stage of the Belarusian Bolshoi. The first production of legendary Larisa Aleksandrovskaya was performed at the theatre for 58 years (from 1953 to 2011). The role of Aida was the first for Tamara Glagoleva, when the singer gradually began to move from the high soprano roles to more strong. Although once a young singer, who shone in the roles of Gilda and the Queen of the Night, even didn’t expect that he will sing the title role in this Verdi’s masterpiece.

Patricia Kaas and Phil Collins, Depeche Mode and Metallica, Deep Purple and Linkin Park performed at the Siemens Arena. And on 28 January the audience here warmly welcomed the dancers of the Belarusian ballet. The Bolshoi Theatre performed our national performance Vitaut in the capital of Lithuania.
