Just before the World Theatre Day, the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus shared its plans for the current year. The press conference was attended by the general director of the theatre Alexander Petrovich, artistic director and People's Artist of the USSR and Belarus Valentin Elizariev, conductor Dmitry Matvienko, director Anna Motornaya, opera soloist, director and Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus Oksana Volkova.

The Bolshoi Theatre is preparing productions of two large-scale operas: the Belarusian work King Stakh’s Wild Hunt by Vladimir Soltan (musical director-Andrey Ivanov, director-Anna Motornaya, designer-Andrei Merenkov, chorus master -People's Artist of Belarus, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus Nina Lomanovich, costume designer-Tatyana Lisovenko; the premiere is scheduled for 11 and 12 July 2021) and famous French opera Samson et Dalila by Camille Saint-Saëns (conductor-Dmitry Matvienko, director – the Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus Oksana Volkova, set designer-Ethel Yoshpa; the premiere is scheduled for November 2021).

If we talk about ballet productions our audience will see Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake  staged by People's Artist of the USSR and Belarus Valentin Elizariev and designed by Vyacheslav Okunev (conductor-Vladimir Ovodok; premiere is scheduled for 15 May 2021) and Rodion Shchedrin’s The Little Humpbacked Horse staged by People's Artist of Belarus Yury Trayan (conductor- the Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus Nikolai Koliadko, designers- Lyubov Sidelnikova, Ekaterina Bulgakova, Irina Vtornikova; premiere is scheduled for October-November 2021).

For the 7th time, from 12 to 17 June, the international festival Ballet Summer at the Bolshoi will take place at the theatre. Traditionally, the festival programme includes choreographic premieres: Swan Lake, Peer Gynt, Anna Karenina, The Nutcracker. The guest of the project will be a long-time friend of the Bolshoi the Academic Theatre «Kyiv Modern-Ballet». Principal Ballet Master Honoured Artist of Ukraine, People's Artist of Moldova Radu Poklitaru will present to the Belarusian audience his productions  Nine Dates, The Little Prince , as well as a divertissement of modern choreography Con tutti i strumenti. On 17 June the "Summer" will end with the Gala concert of world ballet stars.

From 25 to 26 June “Evenings of the Bolshoi Theatre at the Radziwill Castle” will take place in Nesvizh for the 11th time. Under the arches of the ancient castle Verdi's Nabucco will be performed in concert version (director-Galina Galkovskaya, conductor-Aleh Lessoun, chorus master-Nina Lomanovich). And on 26 June (Saturday) we are waiting for the "Night of Transformation" - an interesting musical project also by Galina Galkovskaya. Traditional concerts will be held at the Church of Corpus Domini and theatre hall of the castle.

We are happy that we finally can speak about tours. In the 2021-2022 season the company plans to tour in Germany, Austria, France, Thailand, Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. The orchestra's artists are preparing two programmes "Disney in Concert" and "Hans Zimmer's Music", as well as the project "Hans Zimmer Live". The ballet company plans to perform Scheherazade, Carmen Suite, Swan Lake, La Bayadere in Thailand, as well as Swan Lake and The Nutcracker in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Germany.
