PARTNER OF THE PROJECT
He was born in Baku, studied in St. Petersburg, lives and creates in Minsk. His name has come to be synonymous with the Belarusian ballet, and his choreographic works delighted people all over the world. He was the youngest choreographer in the Soviet Union and, at the age of 26, he headed the ballet company of the Belarusian Bolshoi. Moreover, he was the first who drew his focus toward the brilliant Carl Orff’s music. He staged the ballet Carmina Burana, which still (40 years later) evokes genuine admiration of the audience. His numerous awards has long been estimated as dozens, but the most precious award for him is “Benois de la Danse” from the International Dance Association for the national ballet Passions (Rogneda). He identifies himself as a happy person. And the recipe for his happiness is simple – a loving family and artistic endeavour, in which he remains true to himself to this day.
