The Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus invites our dear audience to the Belarusian Versailles for the 14th time. The most beautiful summer evenings in Nesvizh will take place from 14 to 16 June. The calendar is available on our website. Tickets on sale now!
Ten events in three days! We will see six different concerts in the Theatre Hall of the castle and one in the Church of Corpus Domini. The premiere of the previous season Adolphe Adam’s Giselle staged by Igor Kolb will open the "Evenings of the Bolshoi Theatre at the Radziwill Castle". The premiere of this season Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta directed by Anna Motornaya will continue the festival on the main venue of the castle (in the courtyard). And traditionally the festival will end with the Gala concert of opera and ballet stars, which will be directed by Oksana Volkova.


 

 

On Friday (14 June, 16:00), the first swallow of the "Evenings ..." will be a beautiful concert in the theatre hall «Тенора. Tribute». The leading opera soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre Dmitry Shabetya, Alexander Mikhniuk, Victor Mendelev, Taras Prysiazhniuk, Andrei Matyushonok, Alexander Gelakh, Ivan Biarezin, Iosif Nikitenko, accompanist Anastasia Dubovskaya and director Natalia Kuzmenkova will present a programme that features wonderful music: the most famous opera arias and Neapolitan songs.

 

 

 


On the evening of Friday (14 June, 20:30), an ancient legend about the vindictive unmarried girls who were betrayed by their beloved and died before their wedding comes to life in the central courtyard of the Nesvizh Castle. One of the most beautiful romantic ballets Giselle by Adolphe Adam (staged by the principal ballet master of the theatre Igor Kolb) returned to the Belarusian stage in the autumn of 2022. This evening the performance will feature Alina Rudenko as Giselle, Andrei Bariev as Albrecht, Maryna Vezhnavets as Myrtha, Anton Kravchenko as Hans, Apollinariya Kartavtseva and Anton Ogrodnik in Peasant pas de deux, Tatiana Ulasenas Bathilda, Mikhail Baraznou as the Duke, Diana Bagatova and Elizaveta Musorina as Wilis (Monna, Zulma). The principal conductor of the theatre Artem Makarov will conduct.

 

 

 

 


On Saturday (15 June, 12:00) the concert "Lilac Time" will take place in the Theatre Hall. The Honoured Artist of the Republic, opera soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre Tatiana Tretiak chose the name of the concert for a reason: this is the name of a wonderful art song by the French composer Ernest Chausson. The exquisite, colorful and sensual art songs by Claude Debussy, Francis Poulenc, Ernest Chausson, Hugo Wolf, Richard Strauss will be performed in Tatiana Tretiak’s author's arrangement for voice and string quintet on 15 June in Nesvizh. The string quintet Serenade will appear on stage with Tatiana: Genrikh Matskevitch (violin), Elena Makutsa (violin), Siarhei Tretsiak (viola), Dzianis Makarevich (cello), Pavel Priemka (double bass). The concert is directed by Natalia Kuzmenkova.

 

 

 


At 14:00, Renaissance and Baroque music performed by ensembles and soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus will be performed in the Church of Corpus Domini, one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in Europe. The history of two stylistic epochs will be represented by cultural monuments of Europe, which included the area of modern Belarus. The semantic and emotional focus of the programme will be late Baroque music. First of all, it will be the pearl of the world musical art Stabat mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi. Some parts of the work will be performed by winners of international competitions Maria Galkina and Ekaterina Mikhnovets, accompanied by the string quartet “Vivat-Quartet” and Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus Yuliya Shcherbakova. The masterpiece of the Italian master will appear in an exquisite entourage, that reflects the perspective of European art with exclusive inclusions: samples of music that made up the musical reality of Belarus in the 16th and17th centuries. The programme includes works by Mikołaj Gomółka, Diomedes Cato, Tomaso Albinoni, Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Philipp Telemann, Georg Friedrich Händel, Luigi Boccherini, Johann Baptist Neruda, etc.
The concert will feature string quartet of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus Vivat-Quartet, instrumental trio Gloria, trombone chorus, the Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus Yuliya Shcherbakova (organ part), Pavel Burtsev (trumpet) and Vitaly Dubovik (guitar). Director is Natalia Baranovskaya. Free admission.

 


This day will end with a wonderful concert "Giacomo Puccini. The true genius of Opera"(16.00), which will feature the "hits" of the Italian composer performed by the most outstanding opera soloists of the theatre and accompanied by Larisa Terekhova (director: Natalia Kuzmenkova, hostess: Olga Kazhalieva).

 

 

 


‘This opera is a real gem, which has an absolutely happy ending. Iolanta is an unprecedented masterpiece that should make all of us think about the meaning of existence and turn to the origin: the concepts of love, spiritual renewal, death and immortality...’ On Saturday evening, the Central Courtyard of the Nesvizh Castle will turn into a fairy-tale kingdom, where Iolanta lives. This Tchaikovsky’s opera, directed by the principal director Anna Motornaya, is the premiere of the current season. Yuri Karavaev will conduct.

 

 

 


The Flute Quartet of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus will perform a concert on Sunday afternoon. At 12:00 the Honoured Artist of the Republic Larisa Lasotskaya, Natalia Murzina, Alina Konoplyanik and Artyom Nemirsky will present the programme "From Classics to Jazz" (directed by Natalia Kuzmenkova).

 

 

 


At 14:00, popular music of the 1930s and 40s will be performed in the Theatre Hall in the programme "How Many Girls who are so Pleasing” (directed by Galina Galkovskaya). Anastasia Dubovskaya will accompany. The programme will feature the leading opera soloists of the theatre, the string quartet of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus Vivat-Quartet, wind instrument ensemble A.M.A.D.I.S. Brass and trombone ensemble of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus.

 

 

 


On 16 June (on Sunday), we can also hear the talented "A.M.A.D.I.S. Brass" at 16:00. The orchestra manager Dzmitry Harbachuk will present his programme "New Breath". This year, the musician received a grant from the President of Belarus for the implementation of this creative project. The leading opera soloists will give a wonderful mood to the audience of the Theatre Hall in Nesvizh together with the A.M.A.D.I.S. Brass. The Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus Yuliya Shcherbakova will accompany. The programme is directed by Natalia Kuzmenkova. 

 

 

 


The Gala Concert of the Stars of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus will finish this celebration of classical art. The programme will start at 19:30. The director of this large-scale action is the Honoured Artist of the country Oksana Volkova. Yuri Karavaev will conduct and your favorite artists, leading opera and ballet soloists will perform on the stage.
