"Life in the Profession"

In February, the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus presents a new project "Life in the Profession." Its first heroine will be the People's Artist of the country Irina Eromkina.

On 5 February, the choreographic drama Anna Karenina to Pyotr Tchaikovsky's music (staged by Olga Kostel) will be a benefit performance for the prima ballerina. Vitali Hryshchanka will conduct.

A photo exhibition of Irina Eromkina’s most iconic roles will be presented in the lobby before the performance, and an autograph session for the audience will be organized in the central part of the pit foyer after the performance.

---
She is a ballerina who shatters all the stereotypes that society generates. She is so graceful, fragile, flying, but she has incredibly strong character. She is a mother of three children. And she continues to appear on her native stage of the Bolshoi Theatre, conquering the audience with her talent.…
There are more than 40 roles in her repertoire. But, of course, her repertoire includes iconic roles: Phrygia in Aram Khachaturian’s Spartacus, the title role in Valery Gavrilin’s Anyuta, Eva in Andrey Petrov’s The Creation of the World, the title role in Vyacheslav Kuznetsov’s Anastasia, Anna in Anna Karenina to the music by Pyotr Tchaikovsky… In the role of Anna Karenina the People's Artist Eromkina will appear on 5 February. In 2021 Irina received the National Theatre Award for this role.

On 14 February, the benefit performance will feature Liudmila Khitrova. The Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus will perform the title role in Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet (staged by Valentin Elizariev) within the “Life in the Profession” project. And on 23 February, the Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus Maryna Vezhnavets will perform a completely new role of a Girl in Igor Kolb's production Illusions of Love (ballet to the music by Dmitri Shostakovich, Frédéric Chopin, Leonid Shirin). It will be a benefit performance for the prima ballerina.

We add that these evenings, you can see photo exhibitions dedicated to prima ballerinas in the foyer before the performance, and you can get autographs from the stars after.
