Ruslan Yudin as Herman

On 11 November, Ruslan Yudin, a renowned soloist of the Natalia Sats Moscow State Academic Children’s Musical Theatre, will perform one of the most popular arias, “What is Our Life? A Game!”
The singer, already well-known to Belarusian audiences, will once again grace the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus for Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s hauntingly mystical opera The Queen of Spades.
Yudin is a graduate of the Schnittke Moscow State Institute of Music, where he received his degree in academic vocal performance in 2008 under the guidance of Oganes Georgiyan, a celebrated soloist of both the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia and the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre.
The singer furthered his studies at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music, where he completed his education in the field of academic singing under the tutelage of Professor Yury Udalov in 2013.
In 2011, he joined the company of the Natalia Sats Moscow State Academic Children’s Musical Theatre.
He won grand prize at the Competition for Graduates from Russian Universities in St Petersburg, with the People’s Artist of the USSR and Russia Irina Bogacheva presiding as the esteemed chairwoman.
His repertoire with the theatre includes, among others, José in Georges Bizet’s Carmen, Vaudémont in Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta, the Astrologer in The Golden Cockerel by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Pinkerton in Giacomo Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, and Siegmund in Die Walküre by Richard Wagner.
In 2019, he made his debut with the Maria Bieșu National Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Moldova as Herman in Tchaikovsky’s operatic drama The Queen of Spades, and subsequently appeared in the same role at the Dmitri Shostakovich Samara Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.
In 2021, Yudin made his debut with the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, performing the roles of the Third and Fourth Jew in Richard Strauss’ Salome.
With the company of the Natalia Sats Moscow State Academic Children's Musical Theatre, the singer has toured Paris, London, Dublin, and Bucharest.
On the evening of 11 November, the following leading soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus will appear opposite the guest artist: recipient of the Francysk Skaryna Medal Tatiana Petrova as Liza, Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus Oksana Yakushevich as the Countess, Daria Gorozhanko as Polina, Anastasia Mikhnovets as Prilepa, Andrei Logvinov as Yeletsky, Andrey Selutin as Surin, Uladzislau Zazulka as Narumov, Alexander Gelakh as Chaplitsky, Victor Mendelev as the Master of Ceremonies, and Marina Moroz as the Governess.
