Vladimir Petrov graduated from the Modest Mussorgsky Ural State Conservatory (class of Professor B.Vinogradov). He was a soloist of Omsk State Music Theatre and the Belarusian State Academic Music Theatre.
Petrov joined the opera company of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus in 1993.

In 2005 Vladimir Petrov performed the role of Don Pizarro in Ludwig van Beethoven's Fidelio under the baton of Nir Kabaretti in Tel Aviv. He also appeared in La traviata in 2013 and Aida in 2014 at Sofia Opera and Ballet; La bohème under the baton of Yevgeny Kolobov in Yekaterinburg and Astana Opera in 2016, La traviata in Rostov State Musical Theatre in 2018.
Petrov’s recordings include Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony No.13 and Symphony No. 14, song cycle Songs and Dances of Death by Modest Mussorgsky with the Sofia Symphony Orchestra.
The singer has an extensive concert repertoire comprised of oratorios, cantatas, art songs, pieces by Belarusian composers. In 2017, he appeared in concert in Israel. He regularly works with the SONORUS music ensemble: in 2018, he took part in Belarus’ first ever performance of the cantata A Survivor from Warsaw by Arnold Schönberg.
Vladimir Petrov has toured Germany, Ireland, China, Poland, France, Switzerland, Thailand, the Netherlands, and the UK. He is a regular participant of opera festivals in Germany.
