On 6 February we honoured the winners of the competition "Man of the Year of Culture". We heartily congratulate the Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus, Laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus Oksana Volkova on the victory in the nomination "Theatre Art"!
Her voice is known to the opera devotees all over the world. She appeared at the Royal Opera in Covent Garden in London, Theatro alla Scala in Milan, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Opéra de Nice in France, Teatro di San Carlo in Naples and Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. She has also performed on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera in New York for more than one season. She made her debut on this stage in 2013. Last year she opened the season at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, performing the role of Giulietta in Jacques Offenbach’s Les contes d'Hoffman. In early 2018 on the Belarusian stage she appeared in the role of Santuzza in Pietro Mascagni’s masterpiece Cavalleria rusticana for the first time. In this role she will appear at the Grand Théâtre de Genève in March.
