Love, Infidelity, Perfidy and Passion

‘Love, infidelity, perfidy and passion – all can be found in favourite art songs, as well as in popular operettas. That’s why the evening has been called like that,’ says the recipient of the Francysk Skaryna Medal, accompanist Yulia Shcherbakova.

‘I will be pleased to perform old art songs in modern arrangements which can rarely be heard at the chamber evenings. The audience will listen to funny duets and arias from their favourite operettas, such as Die Csárdásfürstin (Sylva) and Mariza by Imre Kálmán, and La Périchole by Jacques Offenbach,’ Marina Likhosherst continues.

The evening will also feature Marina Aksentsova, Ilya Pevzner, Alexander Drinevsky, Yury Bolotsko, participant of an international competition Vasily Mingalev.

Marina Likhosherst joined the opera company of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus 14 years ago.

Her repertoire includes numerous lead roles, such as the title roles in Iolanta and Turandot, Zemfira in Aleko, Kupava in The Snow Maiden, Nedda in Pagliacci, Mercedes in Carmen and many others. Her concert repertoire includes leading soprano roles in oratorios and cantatas, arias from operas and operettas, old and Russian romance songs.
