Fidan Hacıyeva in the opera Carmen

On 20 April, the lead part in the opera Carmen by Georges Bizet will be performed by the People's Artist of Azerbaijan, the soloist of Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre Fidan Hacıyeva. The conductor is Maestro Ayyub Guliyev (Azerbaijan).

Fidan Haciyeva is a graduate of the Baku Musical Academy majoring in academic singing (bachelor and master), where later she completed her postgraduate course. Since 1996, she has sung with the company of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. She  participated in master classes of Irina Arkhipova and Bruno Baglioni, and also took part in the international competition of the Accademia Chigiana (Italy).

Fidan Haciyeva has performed in the best venues of Italy: Rimini, Cattolica, Fano, Pesaro, Bologna, Cesena, Forlì and Gento, and also performed the lead roles in opera productions in Turkey. Her repertoire includes Carmen  George Bizet (Carmen), Arshin Mal Alan by  Uzeyir bey Abdul Huseyn oglu Hajibeyov (Gulchohra, Assiya), Rigoletto Giuseppe Verdi (Maddalena), Aida (Amneris)  and Il Trovatore (Azucena) by Giuseppe Verdi, The Barber of Seville by Gioachino Rossini (Rosina), Sevil  by Fikret Amirov (Gulus).

Belarusian audience got to know the star of the Azerbaijani Opera at the Gala-concert of the Minsk International Christmas Opera forum in 2016. The actress brilliantly performed the Habanera from Carmen by Georges Bizet and Aria of Delilah from Samson and Delilah by Camille Saint-Saëns, having received a storm of applause from the audience.

On 20 April Honoured Artist of Azerbaijan Ayyub Guliyev will be in charge of the musical passions on the Belarusian stage.

Ayyub Guliyev has been fascinated with music from his early childhood: he played the national folk instrument tar. Together with his father, Professor Ramiz Kuliev, he toured a lot, was actively engaged in concert activities releasing CDs; in 1997 he took part in the anniversary celebrations of the legendary cellist Mstislav Rostropovich in Baku. In the same year, Ayyub Guliyev performed at concerts, dedicated to the 55th anniversary of Muslim Magomayev in Baku and Moscow. In 1997-1998 and 2002-2003. Guliyev participated in the Days of Azerbaijani Culture in the UK and Stavanger International Music Festival with Trondheim Orchestra (2002-2003, Norway). In 2005, Ayyub Guliyev graduated from the Baku Musical Academy majoring in conducting (class of Y. Adigezalov), and continued his postgraduate education at St Petersburg State Conservatory, University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna in the Czech Republic. The conductor took part in master classes of world stars and the most sought-after conductors of the world including Daniel Harding, Riccardo Capasso, Yury Simonov, Rauf Abdullayev.

Ayyub Guliyev is a recipient of many professional and state awards. According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev on 23 August 1998 the name of Ayyub Guliyev was inscribed in the "Golden book of young talents of Azerbaijan" (he is one of the five young musicians of the country who was singked out with such honour), he was also awarded the Presidential scholarship. In 2006, the conductor became the laureate of the National Prize "Achievement"; in 2009 he was the winner of the "Top" award. Ayyub Guliyev is the winner of numerous competitions including the Witold Lutosławski Competition for Young Conductors in Bialystok (2006, I Prize), the Mitropoulos International Conducting Competition in Athens (2008, prize of the orchestra). In 2010 Ayyub Guliyev won the top award (The Giuseppe Sinopoli Prize) at the Arturo Toscanini International Competition of Conductors in Parma (Italy).

The conductor has performed in the best concert halls of the world, collaborating with such renowned orchestras as the Vienna Chamber Orchestra (Austria), Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra (Croatia), Orchestra of the Baltic Philharmonic, St Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra, the Stage Hermitage Orchestra in St Petersburg, St Petersburg State Capella Symphony orchestra, symphony orchestras of  Kiev and Donetsk Opera houses, the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus, the State Symphony orchestra of Azerbaijan, etc. Since 2011, Eyyub Guliyev has been the conductor of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.
