Memorandum of Understanding

 

On 31 May, during the Belarusian Culture Days in China and the performances of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus in Beijing, the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus renewed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Centre for the Performing Arts.

Svetlana Kaziulina, the Deputy General Director of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus, and Zhengming Wang, the Vice-President of the National Centre for the Performing Arts, have agreed on mutually beneficial cooperation for the sake of effective development and mending fences between the theatres in the sphere of ballet, opera and symphonic art. With this aim, the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus and the NCPA intend to increase cultural exchange in the sphere of music, theatrical and production work, joint organization and implementation of international artistic projects, etc.

The aforementioned Memorandum provides for mutual acquaintance with achievements of national ballet, opera and symphonic arts of Belarus and China; organization of guest performances of both Parties; exchange of soloists and companies; joint projects on creation of ballet and opera productions; organization of masterclasses of leading artists of both theatres; participation in musical competitions and festivals; collaboration in the sphere of exchanging the artistic staff (conductors, directors, designers, costume designers, lighting designers, etc.); exchange of information on significant events in musical and theatrical life of both countries.

The Memorandum is valid for five years.
