On 26 November 2017 the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus presents the Celebratory Evening of the People’s Artist of Russia Andris Liepa, ‘Diaghilev Gala’, comprising three one-act ballets from Sergei Diaghilev’s collection ‘Russian Seasons’ – The Firebird, Scheherazade, La Spectre de la rose.
People’s Artist of Russia, director and producer Andris Liepa together with the Maris Liepa Charitable Foundation within the large-scale project Russian seasons of the XXI century revive the legendary performances of the Diaghilev's enterprise, which conquered the West a hundred years ago, for two decades. The ballets of the early twentieth century, restored by Andris Liepa, continue to amaze the audience with incredible energy and beauty of the performances and have great success during the tours of the project Russian seasons of the XXI century.
Celebratory Evening of Andris Liepa in Minsk delights the audience with a bouquet of famous names. The superstar of classical ballet Nino Ananiashvili will appear in La Spectre de la rose by Carl Maria von Weber. Andris has been her stage partner for many years. Young principal dancer of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia Jacopo Tissi will dance with Nino. He was the soloist of the Vienna State Ballet and Teatro alla Scala in the recent past.
Artist of the Mariinsky ballet company, graduate of the Belarusian Choreographic College Alisa Sodoleva will perform the role of Zobeide in Scheherazade by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. And one of the leading dancers from Kazakhstan, winner of prestigious international competitions, leading soloist of the ballet company of Astana Opera House Bakhtiyar Adamzhan will perform the role of Golden Slave.
The leading soloist of the Tbilisi State Opera and Ballet Theatre Nino Samadashvili will dance the Firebird in the eponymous ballet by Igor Stravinsky. The young talented dancer of the Georgian ballet David Ananiashvili will perform the role of Ivan Tsarevich. The concert will be conducted by musical director and chief conductor of the Natalia Sats Moscow State Academic Musical Theatre Alevtina Ioffe. The ballet dsncers of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus also take part in the performances.
