LITHUANIA. VILNIUS. VITAUT

The national ballet Vitaut was a resounding success in Vilnius. That had been amply demonstrated by standing ovation at the multi-thousand arena on 28 January. It would seem that this venue is not designed for classical works. But the organizers created a beautiful ballet stage especially for this performance. And our artists were pleased to perform on this stage. In June 2016 Vitaut was successfully performed on the historical stage of the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow.

The main thing is that this ballet catches the fancy of audience. ‘People always want their work touched the strings of the human soul, provided food for thought’, said People's Artist of Belarus and choreographer of Vitaut Yury Trayan. Also he speaks without reserve: you shouldn’t ‘become absorbed’ in this ballet as it is a history textbook. We created a choreographic legend about prince Vitaut. It based on historical events, but it is still the legend. In the evening of 28 January Vitaut and Jogaila, Anna and Jadwiga came to life to show the exciting story in which myths and legends, love and hate, betrayal and loyalty, friendship and malice, enmity and peace are interlaced...

We would simply add, that on 28 January Vitaut featured Anton Kravchenko as Vitaut, Irina Eromkina as Anna, Aleksandra Chizhik as Jadwiga, Egor Azarkevich as Jogaila, Dzmitry Shemet as Keistut, Olga Gaiko as Biruta, Takatoshi Machiyama as the Black Man, Konstantin Geronik as the Fool.
