Prince Igor: New Version

 

On 15 September the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus opened the 87th season with a premiere. Alexander Borodin's Prince Igor has returned to the repertoire.  After the performance, the audience did not want to let the artists go: for a long time people were clapping and yelling ‘Bravo!’ The audience reacted to the production differently and serious passions took place in social networks after the premiere. And this only means that no one was indifferent. The production awakens thought, feelings, emotions. And isn't that what it's really all about? The production will be in the calendar of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus for a long time. The next time you can hear and see this production on 15 October.

 

We just want to add that production team includes: People’s Artist of Belarus, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Anissimov (musical director), recipient of the Francysk Skaryna Medal Galina Galkovskaya (director), People's Artist of Russia, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus Vyacheslav Okunev (sets and costumes), People's Artist of Belarus, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus Nina Lomanovich (chorus master), People's Artist of Belarus Yury Trayan (choreography).

 

On 15 and 16 September the production featured the Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Gromov and People's Artist of Belarus, recipient of the Francysk Skaryna order Vladimir Petrov as Prince Igor; People's Artist of Belarus, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus Anastasia Moskvina and Irina Krikunova as Yaroslavna; Recipient of the Francysk Skaryna Medal, winner of numerous international competitions Yuri Gorodetski as Igorevich; Vladimir Petrov and winner of international competition Andrei Seliutsin as Galitsky; People's Artist of Azerbaijan Ali Askerov and Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus Oleg Melnikov as Konchak; winner of international competition Kriskentia Stasenko and Aksana Yakushevich as Konchakovna. Maestro Anisimov conducted two evenings in a row.
