Laugh, Pagliaccio…


The guest soloist of the Belarusian Bolshoi, Honoured Artist of Russia, People's Artist of Tatarstan, winner of Russia’s Golden Mask Theatre Award, one of the most famous and popular tenors of the world Akhmed Agadi will appear as Canio in Pagliacci by Ruggero Leoncavallo. By the way, the 2019-2020 season the artistic biography of the famous tenor is rich in premieres: at his native Mariinsky Akhmed Agadi performed the role of Dick Johnson in the premiere of Giacomo Puccini's "Western" La fanciulla del West at the end of the last season. And at the Shalyapin Festival in Kazan the tenor appeared as Ivan the Terrible in Söyembikä by Reseda Akhiyarova. On 5 February the last performance of Puccini's La bohème, which featured Ahmed Agadi, Olga Guryakova, Hibla Gerzmava, Andrey Baturkin, Evgeny Polikanin, took place at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Theatre. This opera premiered 24 years ago.


Akhmed Agadi graduated from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. Then he became a soloist of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre. In 2005 he joined the Mariinsky opera company, where the inimitable tenor performs the entire Italian repertoire: Verdi, Puccini, Donizetti. Now he performs on the most famous opera venues in Russia, France, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, Latvia, Argentina and Turkey, Germany, Romania, etc.


On 15 March Pagliacci will feature Tatiana Petrova as Nedda, Stanislav Trifonov as Tonio, Yuri Gorodetski as Beppe, Ilya Silchukov as Silvio. Vladimir Ovodok will conduct.
