“THE LITTLE ORCHESTRA OF HOPE”

On 17 December, works by Bulat Okudzhava will be performed by the leading soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre in the Chamber Hall. This evening Aksana Yakushevich, Elena Salo, Tatiana Tretiak, Tatiana Petrova, Inna Rusinovskaya, Elena Tabolich, Anna Gurieva, Marina Likhosherst, Marina Aksentsova will sing touching songs “Two Roads”, “Your Honour”, “We Will Pay Any Price”, “Wishes to Friends”, “Love and Separation”, “Prayer”, etc.

“I don't remember when I acquainted myself with Okudzhava’s works for the first time, but every time I hear his songs, I feel like coming home,” the director of the concert Natalia Kuzmenkova says. “They accompany me all my life; some of them have become an integral part of my soul. For me, the main attraction of Bulat Okudzhava’s songs is their sincerity and confessionality. Everyone who sings his songs today, whether they are old or young, sings about themselves, about their life, their love, their losses and hopes… His songs open people’s eyes to themselves, suggest thoughts about eternal values, about the essence of being, awaken in a person a wise consciousness of simple and honest truths and sad irony about how far our external life is from the life of our soul – the main life, without which there is no man. These songs are addressed to all collectively and to everyone individually.”

The audience will be able to plunge into the heart-warming, sometimes sad, sometimes harsh world of Bulat Okudzhava, who is called a poet of deep human wisdom and nobility.
