"THE GOD WHO CONTROLS THE PASSIONS"

Johann Strauss is the composer and musician, who managed to convey the bubbling joy of life in his work. The popularity of his melodies easily overcomes the boundaries of different eras and styles, preserving eternal youth and beauty. The famous French writer Alexandre Dumas called Johann Strauss the God who owns the passions.

The creators of the concert programme "Strauss Invites" gathered the most striking musical works from the huge and truly inexhaustible heritage of the composer. This is the well-known overture to the operetta Die Fledermaus, and famous waltzes "Tales of the Vienna Forest", "The Beautiful Blue Danube", and wonderful polkas…

However, the charm of this programme is not only in Strauss’ music. The conductor Nikolai Koliadko said: ‘We try to make each musical work a small theatrical performance with its own drama. This brings a unique element of the game to the relationship between the orchestra and the audience. Thanks to such communication, the atmosphere of the concert becomes more intimate and warm, there is a subtle emotional connection between the audience and the artists.’

The pearls of the Strauss repertoire, as well as the melodies of Lehar and Kalman will be performed by the leading opera soloists and symphony orchestra of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus. The concert will feature People's Artist of Belarus Vladimir Petrov, Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus Elena Shvedova, recipient of the Francysk Skaryna Medal Tatiana Tretiak, winners of international competitions Klavdiya Potemkina, Marina Likhosherst, Maria Galkina, Alexander Mikhniuk, Diana Trifonova.
