HEAD OF STATE AT THE BOLSHOI

Before the gala concert, the President spoke with the leadership of the Bolshoi Theatre about further development and prospects of the main theatrical venue of the country.

The head of state attended the event as a spectator, and at the end of the concert, he addressed the audience from the stage.

Alexander Lukashenko thanked the artists for their performance and noted their hard work – serving art.

The head of state expressed the wish that festive evenings like the concert at the Bolshoi Theatre would become traditional for Independence Day. “I want these meetings (with the current President and future presidents) to become traditional, annual. We will figure out how to arrange it. But you will always be in the centre. You will show the best of your creative work, and I will make a decision on awarding state prizes and the titles of honoured and people’s artists to mark this day. We will do our utmost to ensure that our creative intelligentsia is heard on Independence Day. Consider this decision taken,” Alexander Lukashenko said and promised to come back to the Bolshoi Theatre in a year, on 3 July 2022.
