On 11 March, the leading opera soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre will perform scenes from the most popular operas on the stage of the Chamber Hall. The audience will see a rare evening of duets. The artists will try to reveal to the audience the full range of feelings of their heroes, immerse them in the whirlpool of events described in the most famous operas.
‘These are the real pearls of the world opera repertoire,’ added Natalia Baranovskaya (the director of the project), promising that the audience will definitely not be bored this evening.
The programme includes: light and elegant music by bel canto masters Mozart and Donizetti, the tops of romantic opera (Verdi and Bizet) and Italian verismo (Mascagni), the best example of French lyrical music (Massenet), an iconic piece of operetta (Strauss) and others.
The leading opera soloists of the theatre People's Artists of Belarus Nina Sharubina and Sergey Frankovsky, Honoured Artists of the Republic Aksana Yakushevich, Elena Bundeleva, as well as Elena Zolova, Irina Kuchinskaya, Diana Trifonova, Klavdiya Potemkina, Anna Gurieva, Marina Likhosherst, Svetlana Marusevich, Dmitry Shabetya, Alexey Mikutel, Dzianis Yantsevich, Alexander Mikhniuk Yanosh Nelepa will perform the duets of Susanna and Marcellina, as well as Count and Susanna from The Marriage of Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gilda and Duke from Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi, Aida and Amneris from Aida by Giuseppe Verdi, Micaëla and José from Carmen by Georges Bizet, Rita and Beppo from Rita, or the Pirate Triangle by Gaetano Donizetti, Adina and Nemorino from L'elisir d'amore Gaetano Donizetti, Santuzza and Turiddu from Cavalleria rusticana by Pietro Mascagni, Heinrich and Rosalinde from Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss, Papageno and Papagena from Die Zauberflöte by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
