Opera & Jazz

On 22 May, we will see a kind of "duel" of two such seemingly different genres – opera and jazz. This project became possible thanks to the collaboration of the brilliant opera soloist Anastasia Moskvina and the jazz trio "Transformer": Elena Vashkevich (piano), Nazar Rejepov (drums), Andrey Baranov (double bass).

Opera can't be boring. And the concert on 22 May will prove it. The programme “Opera & jazz” is a kind of synthesis of world opera classics and jazz improvisations. On the one hand, the audience will be hypnotized by the opera diva’s beautiful voice, on the other – they will hear virtuoso instrumental compositions. Thus, such different genres will intertwine in the concert: opera, which doesn’t go beyond the academic boundaries as a rule, and jazz, which is a free genre without boundaries. The audience will hear Puccini, Tchaikovsky, Gershwin, Dunaevsky, Legrand in a completely new way…
