On his first visit to Minsk, Mikhail Pirogov impressed the Belarusian audience with a strong performance of the role of Calàf in Puccini’s Turandot. On 28 February, we the singer will appear in a new role of Herman in Tchaikovsky's drama The Queen of Spades.
After music school in Ulan-Ude Mikhail studied at the St Petersburg Conservatory. He became a soloist of the Novosibirsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre in 2021. Previously, Pirogov performed at the Dmitri Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, Buryat Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre and Saratov Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, Mariinsky Theatre. His repertoire includes the roles of Cavaradossi in Tosca, Jose in Carmen, Vaudemont in Iolanta, Vladimir in Prince Igor, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, Herman in The Queen of Spades, Manrico in Il trovatore, etc.
This evening will feature the People's Artists of Belarus Anastasia Moskvina as Lisa, Vladimir Gromov as the Count Tomsky, Honoured Artists of the Republic Alexander Keda as Surin, Elena Salo as the Governess, as well as Yanosh Nelepa as Chekalinsky, Dzmitry Trafimuk as Narumov, Elena Tabolich as Masha, Andrei Matyushonok as the Master of Ceremonies. The Honoured Artist Aksana Yakushevich will perform the role of the Countess for the first time. Andrey Klipo, Daria Gorozhanka, Alexander Gelakh, Anastasia Mihnovets will also make their debut. The principal conductor of the Bashkir Opera Artem Makarov will conduct.
