The Honoured Artist of the Republic of  Buryatia, guest soloist of the Novosibirsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre, Novaya Opera (Moscow) and the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, winner of the Golden Mask National Theatre Award recently became a soloist of the Mikhailovsky Theatre. Of course, the Belarusian public knows and loves Mikhail Pirogov. On 11 January, he will perform the role of Calàf in Puccini's Turandot.

‘There is wonderful theatre, wonderful colleagues, and such a warm audience in Belarus!’ Mikhail Pirogov does not hide his emotions. ‘After the first performance in Minsk, I even thought of moving with my family to Belarus. I was greatly encouraged and inspired by the city, people and theatre...’

Turandot is an incredibly beautiful opera, but also it is very complicated. You must be as concentrated as possible while performing it. You can't fool the audience: you have to be true on stage: love truly, and hate to death!..’ Mikhail said.

We add that the principal maestro of the theatre, People's Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan Artem Makarov will conduct the performance.

And the performance will feature Anastasia Malevich as Princess Turandot, the People's Artists of Belarus Anastasia Moskvina  as Liù, Vladimir Gromov as Ping, Stanislav Trifonov as Timur, Yury Bolotko as Pong, Yanosh Nelepa as Pang, Alexander Mikhnyuk the Emperor.
