World Without Lyudmila

 

 

 

The title of the People’s Artist of Belarus was conferred on her at 29 years old. The noted Italian director Franco Zeffirelli expressed his admiration for her dance. The student of the eminent teachers and dancers of St Petersburg ballet school Nina Mlodzinskaya, Valentina Dudko, Irina Savelyeva, graduate of the Belarusian Choreographic School, Lyudmila Brzhozovskaya joined the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus in 1966. 

 

‘Lyudmila Brzhozovskaya's dance is a chain of moments, which make up the confession of a caring and passionate heart… She is a piece of art herself,’ the famous sculptor Zair Azgur said about the ballerina…

 

She was the first Carmen, Eve, Nele, Phrygia, Masha, the Beloved in Carmen Suite, The Creation of the World, Till Eulenspiegel, Spartacus, The Nutcracker, or Another Christmas Story, Carmina Burana in Valentin Elizariev’s productions. Each of her roles became an outstanding artistic achievement and revelation.

 

The brilliant ballerina, intelligent teacher and theater legend Lyudmila Brzhozovskaya passed away for almost two months. On 4 February, in memory of the People's Artist of Belarus, the subtle and piercing Andrey Petrov’s music will sound and our artists will perform The Creation of the World.

 

On 4 February, the performance will feature the Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus Liudmila Khitrova (Eva) and principal Konstantin Belokhvostik (Adam), Aleksei Boiarinov (God), Vladimir Ruda (Devil). The Honoured Artist of the Republic Nikolai Koliadko will conduct.
