Nino Samadashvili as Laurencia
On 24 November the leading soloist of the Tbilisi State Opera and Ballet Theatre Nino Samadashvili will appear as Laurencia in the eponymous work. Belarusian audience had an opportunity to praise the skills of the Georgian ballerina during the international festival Ballet Summer at the Bolshoi. Nino brilliantly performed the role of Odette-Odile in Swan Lake by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. At the Tbilisi State Opera and Ballet Theatre the graduate of the Vakhtang Chabukiani Tbilisi Ballet Art State School Nino Samadashvili performs the leading roles in the classical ballets Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Raymonda and Giselle. Her repertoire includes the roles in Don Quixote, Les Sylphides, Serenade and others. She also performs the leading parts in modern productions by Georgy Alexidze, Yuri Possokhov, Jiří Kylián, Trey McIntyre, Sasha Evtimova, etc. Nino Samadashvili is the winner of the grand prize at the International Ballet Competition "Riga Spring-2013".

Great talent show in the Bolshoi Theatre
The Bolshoi theatre of Belarus finishes the year with the large-scale talent show for the fourth year in a row. From 14 to 20 December the Minsk International Christmas Singing Competition will take place on the main stage of the country. 232 young artists from Belarus, Russia, Georgia, Uzbekistan, USA, South Africa, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Israel, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia, France, Germany, Latvia, Moldova, Poland, Ukraine expressed a desire to take part in the vocal competition.

Opera non-stop
Minsk International Christmas Opera Forum will take place from 15 to 22 December. Every year this event gathers a galaxy of stars and gives admirers of the opera the opportunity to see current and sensational performances. Minsk International Christmas Opera Forum is the largest creative project of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus. Over the last eight years forum has written some pages in the history of Belarusian opera life many significant events from its own high-profile premieres and tours of world-famous theatrical companies to the meeting of the Belarusian public with real legends of opera and classical music.

To the sounds of jazz
Elena Salo continues her author's cycle "Portraits" with a program dedicated to Alexander Tsfasman. Salo will introduce it in the Chamber Hall on 15 November.

From Polotsk to Prague
The evening of 24 November, which is dedicated to the 500th anniversary of Belarusian book printing, is going to be very beautiful. In the Chamber Hall we will hear music from several eras, starting from the Middle Ages and Renaissance, which is such a rarity for the Bolshoi Theatre. Furthermore, some ancient works, which are lost in the maelstrom of history of ancient works, "rise again” and will be performed after centuries of oblivion for the first time.

Mykhailo Malafii: I have my voice from my father
The Lviv tenor, guest soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus, winner of the first and audience prizes of the 2nd Minsk International Christmas Singing Competition will perform the role of Lensky in the Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin.

Olga Rozanova: ‘I love the Belarusian theatre’
Olga Rozanova is a well-known teacher and music critic from St. Petersburg. In the past she was the ballerina; she graduated from the Leningrad Choreographic School, and then was PhD programme and theatre institute. She said: ‘I want not only practice ballet, but also learn it, perceive it, because ballet is a highly demanding art form. After completing her dance career Olga began teaching. She worked for the St. Petersburg Conservatory for 25 years. And then she returned to the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet as a teacher of the history of ballet and such theoretical disciplines as analysis of the ballet performance, ballet criticism, the methodology of scientific research in choreography, etc. The teacher also lectures at the Saint-Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts, Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia and other St. Petersburg institutions of higher education. Olga was at the premiere of Le Corsaire at the invitation of the theater and shared her impressions.

New La bohème: through painting to music...

The director Alexander Titel sees it on the Belarusian stage in this way.

Tatyana Ershova: it all started with The Nutcracker...
She starts her morning with a cup of coffee and cottage cheese with jam for many years and goes to the rehearsal class. She danced, perhaps, all the leading roles in ballet productions of the Belarusian Bolshoi at the time. And now she is ‘on the other side of the barricade’, she teaches young artists. It is easy to see her in the stalls on each ballet; she comes in the floor of the house with the notebook and writes any little thing that she will correct with her students in the ballet class next time, so that in the performance everything was perfect. And she works constantly, because it couldn’t be otherwise. She is People's artist of Belarus, ballet mistress of the Bolshoi Theatre Tatyana Ershova. On 13 November she celebrates her anniversary.

Guests from Leipzig about the Flying Dutchman
