Alexander Petrovich. General Director of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus

On 5 November the Minister of Culture Yuri Bondar introduced the new General Director Alexander Petrovich to the staff of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus.

Alexander Petrovich has been working in the field of culture for about 40 years. Most of the time he occupies leadership positions. He worked as deputy director of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society, deputy director and chief administrator of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus. On 5 February 2010 he was appointed director of the Belarus State Academic Musical Theatre.

On 5 November Alexander Petrovich was appointed General Director of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus. ‘Today is exactly 9 years and 9 months since I left the Bolshoi Theatre’, the new General Director said. ‘And here I am again. I want to thank the Ministry of Culture of Belarus and personally Yuri Bondar for the confidence in me as the head of the theatre. Together with the artistic director Valentin Elizariev we will continue to work on creating conditions for the growth of national specialists, on the development of the national repertoire, including children's repertoire… I will dedicate all my life experience, efforts and resources to the benefit of our theatre’.
