On 3 February the People's Artist of Belarus Vladimir Petrov celebrates a beautiful date: the opera soloist turns 65. This year he also celebrates his creative anniversary: Vladimir dedicated 35 years to the stage. In February the artist celebrates these wonderful dates with a real festival of performances.

His February repertoire include: the role of Germont in Verdi's masterpiece La traviata on 4 February; the role of Gryaznoy in Rimsky-Korsakov's historical drama The Tsar's Bride on 6 February; the title role in Verdi's Rigoletto on 16 February; the role of Sharpless in Puccini's Madama Butterfly on 20 February; the Prince Yeletsky in Tchaikovsky's The Queen of Spades on 25 February. On 18 February Vladimir Petrov will also take part in the concert "Strauss Invites...".
Vladimir Petrov grew up in Chelyabinsk, where his mother moved from Belarus after the Great Patriotic War. As the artist admits, he dreamed of being an astronaut, like all the boys in the 1960s. But fate disposed otherwise. After serving in the army, he realized that he want to connect his life with music and entered a music school in Chelyabinsk, then he graduated from the Sverdlovsk Conservatory.
We will not list the competitions of the highest level, where Petrov constantly became the winner. He was personally invited to perform in Germany, Switzerland, Poland, France, Ireland, China, Israel, Bulgaria, Spain, Russia and other countries. In 2015, for his outstanding contribution to the theatrical art of the country Vladimir Petrov was awarded main prize of the Union of the Theatre Workers of Belarus “Crystal Paulinka”. And in 2016 he became a recipient of the Francysk Skaryna Order. Belarusian audience has long loved his roles of Onegin, Yeletsky, Tomsky, Gryaznoy, Escamillo, Germont, Prince Igor, Rigoletto, Amonasro, Renato, Macbeth, Scarpia.

On 4 February, before La traviata (at 18:30), photo exhibition dedicated to the work of Vladimir Petrov will be opened in the foyer of the Bolshoi Theatre. The People's Artist of Belarus will definitely come out to the audience, and in just half an hour the audience will see him on stage in the role of Germont.
