BOLSHOI AT THE SLAVIANSKI

From 15 to 18 July, Vitebsk will once again turn into the cultural capital of our republic: for the 30^th time, the International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar” will be held there (additional programmes are scheduled for 14 and 19 July).

Almost every year, leading artists of the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus take part in principal concerts of the festival. The festival has featured prima donna Oksana Volkova, ballet stars Liudmila Ulantsava, Liudmila Khitrova, Anton Kravchenko, Oleg Eromkin. This jubilee “Bazaar” will not be an exception. On 18 July, at the Gala Concert of the Masters of Arts of Belarus which will be held at the Summer Amphitheatre, the audience will hear the voices of People’s Artists Anastasia Moskvina and Vladimir Gromov. By the way, it is planned that on the evening of the grand opening of the festival, the audience will see the masters of the Bolshoi: People’s Artist Irina Eromkina and Honoured Artist Anton Kravchenko.

It is remarkable that one can see the stars of Andrei Petrov and Polad Bülbüloğlu on the Avenue of Stars, which adorns the lower terrace of the Main Amphitheatre. The star of the composer Petrov was the first in this constellation, in 2005. And his philosophical parable The Creation of the World has lived for more than 40 years at the Bolshoi Theatre: this ballet, an embellishment of our repertoire, was created in 1976 by real geniuses, namely composer Andrei Petrov, choreographer Valentin Elizariev and designer Evgeny Lysik. The star of the People’s Artist of Azerbaijan Polad Bülbüloğlu “lit up” in Vitebsk in 2015, and in 2016 the ballet Love and Death choreographed and staged by Olga Kostel to the composer’s music appeared in the Bolshoi repertoire.
