On 28 September, the young tenor will perform the role of Lensky at the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus for the first time.
Taras Prysiazhniuk was born in Donetsk, graduated from the Luhansk Institute of Culture and Arts in theatre and film acting, then Sergey Prokofiev Donetsk State Music Academy in academic vocal. Then he did his master’s degree at the Pyotr Tchaikovsky National Music Academy in Kyiv. His roles with the opera studio of the academy included Alfredo in Giuseppe Verdi’s La traviata and Lensky in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin. From 2011 to 2013, he performed solo parts in Johann Sebastian Bach’s Magnificat, St John Passion, and cantatas BWV 10 and 147 with the academy’s chamber choir as part of the International Bach Academy. He later worked with Donetsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, where his repertoire included the cantata Khustyna by Levko Revutsky and Alexander Rudyansky’s opera The Path of Taras.
Taras Prysiazhniuk is the1st prize winner in the Elena Obraztsova International Competition of Young Opera Singers (St Petersburg, 2015). In 2016, the artist joined the young artists opera program of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia. In 2017, he took part in a concert performance of Gioachino Rossini’s Il viaggio a Reims under the baton of Tugan Sokhiev. In 2020, he signed a contract with the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan, but the pandemic made its own adjustments. Also in 2020 he joined the opera company of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus.
Last season, he performed in Minsk the roles of Rodolfo in La bohème, Roberto in Le Villi. Fatum, Young Faust in Faust, Svetsilovich in King Stakh’s Wild Hunt. And now, on 28 September, Taras Prysiazhniuk will appear in the role of Lensky in Piotr Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin. The performance will feature the leading soloists of the theatre: Marta Danusevich as Tatiana, Dzianis Yantsevich as Eugene Onegin, Oksana Volkova as Olga, Vasily Kovalchuk as Prince Gremin, Elena Salo as Larina, Ekaterina Mikhnovets as the Nurse, Alexander Gelakh as Triquet.
