Nina Scharubina



People's Artist of Belarus

Laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus (2013)

Nina Scharubina graduated from the Belarusian State Conservatory (now the Academy of Music) in 1994, where she had studied under Associate Professor Valentina Rogovich. In 1999 she completed the Academy's programme of postgraduate studies (assistantship) under the supervision of the Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus, Professor Leonid Ivashkov.

She joined the opera company of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus in 2002.

In 2008, she was decorated with the Francysk Skaryna Medal for outstanding achievements, professionalism and contribution to the development of national culture and art.

In 2010, the title of the Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus was conferred on Nina Scharubina for her professionalism and remarkable achievements in the development of culture.

In 2013, she was awarded the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus in the fields of literature, art and architecture for outstanding achievements and vocal and performing skills of significant aesthetic value that considerably contribute to Belarusian national culture.

The title of the People’s Artist of Belarus was bestowed on Nina Scharubina in 2016 for her lasting fruitful work, exemplary service and contribution to the development of culture and art.

Soprano parts in Messa da Requiem by Giuseppe Verdi, the Requiem in D minor by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9.


Nina Scharubina had toured widely in Austria, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, France, and Switzerland. As a member of the company she has also toured Germany, Thailand, and the UK.
