Elena Shvedova graduated from the Belarusian State Conservatoire (now Academy of Music) in 1987 where she had studied under the People's Artist of the USSR Tamara Nizhnikova.
From 1987 to 1990 she was engaged as soloist at the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society.
She joined the opera company of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus in 1991.
In 2009, Elena Shvedova was decorated with the Francysk Skaryna Medal for outstanding achievements, professionalism and contribution to the development of national culture and art.

From 1998 onwards, she is a constant participant of the Strauss Festival: she has appeared at the most prestigious European venues, such as Zürich Town Hall, Musikverein Wien, etc.
With Belarusian orchestras she has performed in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, and France.
As the member of the company, she has toured Germany, Spain, and Switzerland.
